When I bought the Massey Harris Pony in December of 2024 (since sold), the guy gave me a couple headlights that he said came on the Pony. They seemed to be generic headlights so when I sold the tractor, I kept the headlights. Well wouldn't you know, my new B had headlight brackets and wiring but no headlights. So I dug out the little red headlights and proceeded to figure out if they'd work.

1949 Allis Chalmers Model B - First Start in Ten Years
I'll say right off the bat, this was easier than I thought it would be. There's a video at the bottom that shows the steps I performed to get the tractor going, but I'll outline them here also. First thing I wanted to do was check spark. In order to do that, I'd need to be able to crank the engine over with the starter. Problem was, the starter didn't have enough oomph to do the task, so the first order of business was to check battery terminal connections.

1949 Allis Chalmers Model B - New Acquisition
I think I've done enough "yet another tractor" blogs that it would probably get old to do another one. So... look what is going to follow me home in a few days. A 1949 Allis Chalmers Model B. This will be my first Allis.

1942 John Deere H "Parts" Tractor - Cylinder Head and Cylinder Block Replacements
With my HN engine's freeze crack repairs not working, I did quite a bit of searching to find a good used cylinder head and block. I put out feelers to some guys in the tractor club, put a plea out to a Facebook JD H forum, and searched online.

1943 Dodge WC51 Weapon Carrier - Installing "New" NDT Tires
I've been putting off this task for as long as I've owned this truck, which is just about two years now. The guy I bought the truck from mentioned that he had four Non-Directional Tread (NDT) tires off in the woods on his property. He asked if I wanted them and I said sure, so I nabbed them. They are somewhat dry-rotted but are in better overall condition than what's currently on the truck. For two years they've just been sitting in the back of the ol' truck waiting for me to get some motivation to do the dastardly (and very difficult) deed.
