"For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord." Luke 2:11
So, today started out a little hectic. The wife and son are in the emergency room. Son has either appendicitis or (hopefully) something less serious. Blood work seems to indicate it isn't the former, praise the Lord.
Now on to things less important. A good friend's daughter is renting a place and offered to clean out the basement for the owners. She ran across the items below, which made their way to me via a Christmas present. How cool is that!
All these things are for a Class 301 Singer, of which I just happened to pick up not too long ago.

First up is a Buttonholer:
Next is an Automatic Zigzagger:
... and some extra pattern disks:
And finally, some attachments:
... complete with business card of the sales rep. Notice the phone number:
Also included in the box of goodies were some Singer screwdrivers and lint brush.
One of these days I'll have to break out my new 301 and try out these attachments. Thank you Debbie and April!

Great finds.
I don't want this to appear on your blog as spam, so I hope that it is moderated and you see this without it appearing in your comments. I couldn't determine any other way to contact you. I'd like to offer you a code to watch our documentary "Still Stitching" for free - it's about the passion for vintage sewing machines. Maybe you'll enjoy it and find it blog-worthy :) http://stillstitching.com
Good evening! wondering if you can help me with a question. this is the sewing machine I have
https://www.etsy.com/listing/256215176/vintage-white-dressmaker-sewing-machine?ref=shop_home_active_15
wondering if it will be able to sew vinyl
The "white" Dressmaker are model 15 clones, with various appearance differences. While they work good if low mileage, I would keep eyes out for an actual 15-91. After 1948 are very nice, and go through eight layers of jacket leather. Really.
The main limitation of the one you have is the belted motor. It will either not power through, or slip, or burn out if you try too much needle pressure.
Hope that's helpful.
Hi James, you have a nice looking site. I sent you an email response but apparently the Blogger email reply address isn't meant to go anywhere.
Your automatic zigzagger is in pristine condition. You'll have to make a video showing us how well it works. I purchased a similar Singer buttonholer at a flea market last summer. I didn't need another one but the paint on it was in pristine condition, so I couldn't pass it up for $5. These buttonholers create a zig zag stitch by way of a lever that attaches to the needle bar. They work really well. The best part is - the buttonhole is made based on the metal template you put in the device, so you don't have to worry about it deviating from the size you wanted.
