The Onan model number is 305CCK-1RV/13F, good for 3500 watts. It was made in 1960 according to its serial number. The Kohler model number is 3.5E21, also good for 3500 watts. It was made in 1953. Both are 120-volts-only.
This Onan showed up on Craigslist in the free section and I happened to be the first to respond to the ad, so I drove the 4 miles to where it resided and snapped it up. The generator is housed in a somewhat rare Onan enclosure and the engine is plumbed for propane, my first generator that is propane powered (not counting the one in the camper).
Here is a video of the Onan starting, running, and being load tested:
So I guess when it rains, it pours. It helps to peruse the classified ads on Craigslist too. Not long after I got the Onan, this Kohler showed up for $125. It was just too cute to pass up. I went and looked at it (10 miles away) and was able to purchase it for $100. I had no idea if it worked though, as the owner hadn't bothered to try it out.
Yes, this one is also plumbed for propane, as you can see the demand regulator on the side.
Below is a rather long video of me unloading the generator after getting it home, then all the turmoil I went through to get it going. It finally does run though, and produces electricity of the 120-volt variety.
