GMC S15 Windshield Washer Nozzle Repair

This squirter nozzle is out of a 1984 GMC S15, and has been broken for many years. While cleaning out the cowl area of needles, I decided to tackle fixing the nozzle, as new ones are not available.

Below is a shot of the cowl after being partially cleaned up.

I dug up a .250" piece of brass rod to make the part from, and chucked it up in the 110-year-old Seneca Falls lathe.

The inner diameter of the nozzle's hole is 3/32".

I drilled a 3/4"-deep hole into the brass rod.

The outside profile was then carved.

Next step was to drill out the nozzle body to accept the brass insert. The hole needs to be 5/32" diameter. I put the 3/32" drill bit into the nozzle so I could line up the nozzle hole parallel to the larger drill bit.

The nozzle body is ready for the brass insert to be super-glued in place.

Voila! The 45-minute job is done and here is the finished part. This should hold up much longer than the original.
