As I've said before, I like the look of a green machine. - Elna Supermatic

As I mentioned in the previous blog post, the gentleman I bought my latest Singer 319W from also threw in an Elna sewing machine for free. And it was a Supermatic to boot. Score!

The thing came with one cam, for zig zag stitching. I'm not complaining. The spot for a cam so easily could have been empty.

It's amazing what a little elbow grease and a wet wipe will do.

These Elnas were manufactured in Switzerland.

A date of 14 Oct 1954 is stamped on the underside of the base.

After I got the internal workings of the sewing machine to move, I oiled it up, threw some thread in it, and it sewed just like it was supposed to. These old machines continually amaze me with their seemingly endless lifespan, if maintained.
