Bucket O' Bolts - Or, where to find that elusive screw.

I'm sure most guys that grew up like me tinkering on cars/trucks/tractors/etc have a large Bucket O' Bolts (BOB) out in the garage full of the remnants of past projects. You know the scenario, something gets pulled apart to fix or repair it, then gets put back together, and whatever leftovers there are scattered around on the floor get thrown into BOB. I personally use a 5-gallon bucket. It is no lightweight either. It's got to be tipping the scales at 80 pounds or more.

Anyhoo, while working on my '66 Sport Fury last weekend, I noticed the coil had sprung a very small leak, making itself known by coating the inside of the coil wire boot with oil. That's not good so I ordered a new coil online. Today I pulled the old coil off and noticed the coil clamp didn't have the long thin screw to clamp it together. What to do...

I knew it was a long shot, like astronomically long, but decided nonetheless to poke around in BOB to see if I could find something close. Wonder of wonders, after only a minute of perusing, this screw popped into my field of view. Could it be?

Why yes, it actually looks like it was meant for the clamp. It's not a huge stretch though, since I'd messed with Chryslers, Dodges, and Plymouths all my younger years, so the chances of having one of these screws wasn't totally out of the question. God is good, as I continually find out.

The new coil looks a little out of place against the rusty old 383-4bbl. I would hazard a guess though that the motor has never been out of the car since the day it was built in November 1965, so maybe it's time one of these days to pull it and freshen it up a bit.
