Gibson Model D New Paint

I thought I'd throw a quick coat of paint on the new Gibson. It came to me with a coating of primer. It came from the factory in gray with red wheels, so I was going to stick to factory colors as much as possible. Here's a before shot:

I used Rustoleum Smoke Gray spray paint for everything but the wheels. It seemed like a good choice. Here the frame is mostly done.


I ran out of paint, so a couple days later I got more and finished the front part of the frame, the dozer blade, and the seat. I decided to leave the engine in its original paint, as it looks pretty good and isn't the original engine anyway.


I then did the rear wheels. They are two-piece affairs. The inner disc is red and the outer rim is gray (although the rims should technically be silver). I used Rustoleum Colonial Red for the wheels, and  the Smoke Gray for the rear rims.


And the front wheels...

Ta Da!
